Ethnography Museum

Ethnography Museum

Ethnography Museum is opposite the Opera House on Talat Pasa Boulevard. Arif Hikmet Koyunoglu is the architect of this rectangular, single-domed building built in 1927. The triple entrance has four columns and can be reached by a twenty-eight-step stairwell. The bronze Atatürk sculpture in front of the museum was created by the famous Italian sculptor Conanic in 1927.

Ornaments, folkloric clothes, shoes, socks, small cloth purses, wedding gowns, collection of carpets and kilims from different parts of Anatolia and also examples of woodworks, calligraphy and miniature painting from Ottoman and Seljuk periods are exhibited in the museum.
